Auckland Foundation has a number of Funds which welcome donations from the public.

Auckland Fund

One of the first funds set up under Auckland Foundation, the Auckland Endowment Fund has been established for the long-term benefit of Tāmaki Makaurau, and to build a permanent legacy for future generations of Aucklanders. 

Hauraki Gulf Guardians Fund

The recent State of the Gulf Report by the Hauraki Gulf Forum highlighted just how much needs to be done to reverse the significant damage done to the Hauraki Gulf – and that we need to act now. The Hauraki Gulf Guardians Fund is a way for generous Aucklanders to support the vital work being done to protect and regenerate one of our city’s greatest symbols.

North Shore Fund

Many of us feel a connection to the area or community in which we grew up. The North Shore Fund, supported by North Shore businessman and philanthropist Sir Stephen Tindall, is a way for locals to give back now and for generations to come. The dedicated fund has been providing financial support to charities and community groups on the Shore through a granting programme since 2017.

Women's Fund

Research shows that when we invest in women and girls, we invest in stronger, more stable families and communities and raise a generation of healthier kids with brighter futures. The Women’s Fund, set up by Auckland Foundation in 2017, supports and unlocks the potential of Tāmaki Makaurau’s women and girls.

Auckland Regional Parks Legacy Fund

Set up under Auckland Foundation by Friends of Regional Parks, the Fund seeks to preserve and protect Auckland's regional parks for generations to come, as well as ensuring that our regional parks network continues to grow.

Auckland Zoo Conservation Fund

Resettled with Auckland Foundation in 2015, the Auckland Zoo Conservation Fund supports wildlife conservation efforts in New Zealand and overseas, as well as opportunities for Auckland Zoo staff to develop or use their specialist conservation skills.

Daphne Gretta Mary Stevens Community Music Scholarship

After ill-health struck and she was no longer able to teach music after more than 70 years, Daphne Stevens  established this Fund - making her lifelong dream of an annual scholarship to support local young musicians in South Kaipara a reality.

Fabulous Ladies Giving Circle

A Giving Circle set up by a small group of University of Auckland Business School colleagues, the Fund seeks to alleviate poverty through education by providing childcare scholarships for student parents.

Hobsonville Point Community Grants Fund

The Hobsonville Point Community Grants Fund focuses on local wellbeing. Residents and groups are supported through small grants to help develop and carry out ideas, events and projects that benefit the Hobsonville community - including healthy living, sport, youth, community activities, and training and education.

John Wadams Memorial Fund

Set up by Staples Rodway in memory of a much-loved colleague, the John Wadams Memorial Fund focuses on further education, assisting people who need financial assistance to either further their education or obtain further tertiary qualifications in the field of accounting.

Kiwi Kids Education Fund

Established with Auckland Foundation through Safe Kids in Daily Supervision (sKids), the Kiwi Kids Education Fund is a way to give back to the sKids community. Through small grants, the Fund aims to support families in financial hardship, and provide opportunities for kids around art, sports, music and after school care.

Liston College Foundation Fund

The Liston College Foundation Fund, one of the newest Funds set up under Auckland Foundation, will ensure the college continues its proud tradition of supporting young men to be positive influences and contributors to their families, their communities and their nation for generations to come.

NZ Barok Future Fund

The NZ Barok Future Fund has been established under Auckland Foundation to support New Zealand’s only regularly performing baroque orchestra, and ensure that audiences and communities can continue to learn about, understand and appreciate Early Music for generations to come.

Toi Te Atatū

Toi Te Atatū supports creative activities that benefits the Te Atatū Peninsula, such as installation of local artworks in public spaces, creative or innovative projects, events that celebrate arts and culture in the community, and opportunities for local people to take part in and enjoy the arts.

Totara Fund

The Totara Fund is a family-orientated endowment fund which focuses on supporting children in need, and early intervention projects in particular. Initiatives that the Fund has supported include Te Whakaora Tangata's "Kia Kaha" Programme.

Youth Fund

The Youth Fund is an example of “youth supporting youth” on the North Shore. With an advisory committee all aged under 24, the Youth Fund supports young people who have an idea, initiative or project to benefit their youth community with financial assistance. By supporting those young people to put their idea or project into practice, this in turn nurtures youth leadership and development opportunities.

 

Better Beginnings Collective

A group of women who want to live in a country where child poverty doesn’t exist, the Better Beginnings Collective supports mothers of young children who need help with life and parenting skills, so their kids can have a better beginning.

The Clinton & Joy Whitley Fund

Having personally experienced the heartbreak of child cancer, Joy Whitley's bequest to Auckland Foundation has enabled the establishment of The Clinton & Joy Whitley Fund to support families going through a similar experience.

Friends of Redwoods Fund

The funds’ purpose is to generate income and reserves to preserve the Redwoods Park Golf Club - Swanson and minimise the impact of escalating costs as a growing burden on membership fees.

The KEEN Family Fund is a family-oriented endowment fund focused on supporting place-based initiatives that build strong connections between education, employment, and communities. The short-medium term objective is to grow the Fund.

Liang Family Fund

A family fund which has been established for the encouragement of cultural and education exchange, and programmes of educational, social and environmental benefit for the development of future citizens in New Zealand.


Malcolm Wade Fund

Established by born and bred Aucklander Malcolm Wade, this endowment fund ensures a sustainable source of income for charitable causes Malcolm cares about, including heritage and culture.

This family-orientated fund is focused on building a long-term legacy for generations to come. Its key areas of charitable giving will be education, tackling poverty, health and the environment.

Stevens Trust

Established in 1970 in memory of Lee Stevens' mother Rua, this family trust has been supporting community organisations for an incredible 50 years. Since resettling the trust with Auckland Foundation, Lee and Penny have continued to focus their giving on the arts (which was also a passion of Rua's), education, family and youth development, and on supporting refugees and migrants to build new lives in New Zealand, as well as education-based charitable activities in Nepal.

Starting Blocks Fund

This fund helps young people who have been disadvantaged by deprivation, trauma, abuse, violence or broken families to get to the starting blocks and have the opportunities needed to realise their potential and live well. A key focus is the Ba Chieu Home in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, which provides 22 disadvantaged young girls with a safe bed, 3 meals a day, a family environment and the ability to go to school. Our approach is to collaborate with others, empower young people and use effective measures with positive impact.
