Why the Women's Fund?

It has been very special to be a part of the magic, and support what the Women's Fund offers to empower women and girls in NZ. The fund is opening up the eyes of all of us involved; and the women, girls and charities who are being supported through the fund are all doing exceptional things to create a better world for us all. That in itself is what makes the fund so important to me.

How or where do you see the Women's Fund making a difference?

I see the Women's Fund making a difference by connecting and creating new support networks for women who are running charities aimed at women and girls issues, across the country. The fund is also supporting and encouraging women and girls within the community to push forward, reach for their goals and dreams, whatever they may be.

Who is your biggest female role model/inspiration and why?

My mother. She was a very elegant and beautiful women inside and out. She had a very warm heart, and was a true listener. The support she offered to myself, my sister and our friends is always remembered. To be able to sit around a table, talking, laughing and sharing stories of relevance or not, is truly satisfying, calming and good for the soul. A lot of people forget with all the noise in the world today the importance of listening and sharing stories together.

Finish this sentence: "In 10 years' time, I want women and girls in New Zealand to.."

"...feel strong and mentally capable to reach out for support, and find that support to help them to grow, develop and learn."
