Why the Women's Fund?

I see the Women's Fund as a powerful catalyst for creating a more gender-equal Aotearoa. The Women's Fund succeeds in bringing women from all walks of life together and gets them to work collaboratively on addressing gender inequality and I think that's really powerful. I believe that it's only when we come together as a group that we can move the dial on the biggest issues facing us.

How or where do you see the Women's Fund making a difference?

The Women's Fund enables women change makers to make a significant impact in their communities and help other women achieve the best outcomes. It also supports women change makers in a holistic way, not only enabling them to do the work but also helps them grow as leaders and individuals.

Who is your biggest female role model/inspiration and why?

I have the privilege of knowing many incredible women who inspire me daily, so it's really hard to choose just one. My inspirations include:

  • Friends and colleagues in the social impact space, working to improve the lives of other women.
  • My mother, who as an immigrant and without knowing much English, managed to achieve great success in her career.
  • My best friend, who literally put her body on the line for someone else.

Finish this sentence: "In 10 years' time, I want women and girls in New Zealand to…"

"...know their power, define success for themselves, and have unlimited opportunities."
