Building a Legacy of Generosity: The Phua-Feeney Family Charitable Fund
In 2020,Ngee Hwai (Isaac) and Anne established the Phua-Feeney Family Charitable Fund with Auckland Foundation, following a referral from their advisor at Craigs Investment Partners. Their decision with their fund had a clear intention; to create a lasting legacy that would serve the community not just today, but for generations to come.
Drawn to the Community Foundation model for its administrative efficiency and structured approach, Ngee Hwai (Isaac) and Anne wanted to ensure that as much of their contribution as possible would reach the causes they cared about. By setting up a Donor Advised Fund, they have been able to focus on impact, knowing the governance and administration are handled.
Ngee Hwai (Isaac) and Anne were is motivated by the concept of intergenerational giving. They are passionate about building something permanent, having a charitable vehicle that future generations of the family can continue to grow and guide. Their giving reflects both foresight and responsibility, supporting projects across environment, education, health, and poverty alleviation.
They have a particular interest in backing new technologies and innovative methods to address environmental challenges, recognising that lasting change requires fresh thinking. Through the Phua-Feeney fund, grants have supported organisations such as Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, the Graeme Dingle Foundation, and Restoring Takarunga Hauraki. Each of these organisations work in meaningful ways to strengthen their respective communities.
Beyond philanthropy, Ngee Hwai (Isaac) and Anne are active members of our community and valued Friends of the Foundation, consistently supporting efforts to strengthen Tāmaki Makaurau.
Their approach demonstrates how structured, thoughtful giving can create enduring impact. Establishing a Donor Advised Fund offers individuals and families the opportunity to build a permanent legacy, align their giving with their values, and contribute to a stronger future for our region.
If you have ever considered how you might make a lasting difference, Isaac and Anne's example shows that with the right structure in place, it is possible to turn your generosity into long-term impact.
