Exploring the Future of Intergenerational Philanthropy
Auckland Foundation was delighted to host an inspiring evening bringing together our community of donors, grant recipients, board members, and philanthropic leaders to explore the evolving landscape of intergenerational giving.
The evening began with a warm welcome from Auckland Foundation Trustee, Jack Bourke, setting the stage for thoughtful conversations about how philanthropy can create lasting impact across generations. Another Trustee, Jude Dobson, was our MC for the evening, guiding guests through an engaging programme that highlighted both the opportunities and challenges of passing on not just wealth, but values, purpose, and a sense of responsibility to the next generation.
We were honoured to hear from a panel of distinguished philanthropic voices, including Auckland Foundation donors Pip King & Clint Smith, our ambassador Sir Michael Jones, Peter Hillary, Alexander Hillary, and our Chief Executive, Melody Mobsby. They shared insights on navigating family conversations about giving, aligning priorities, and structuring long-term philanthropic strategies—sparking reflection and conversation among all attendees.
Our sincere thanks go to our event sponsors, ANZ Private and Harbour Asset Management, whose support made this gathering possible. Their partnership is a vital part of fostering a culture of giving in Auckland.
The evening reminded us that philanthropy is more than financial generosity—it is about building legacies that reflect the values and vision of those who give, and inspiring the next generation to carry that purpose forward.
We are excited to continue these conversations and invite anyone interested in making a meaningful difference to explore opportunities for giving with Auckland Foundation.
