Point Chevalier Veterans Their Families and Community Trust
About the Point Chevalier Memorial RSA
History: Founded in 1930 the Point Chevalier Memorial RSA (RSA), with its primary objective being to “Enhance the wellbeing of veterans and their families (via remembrance, support and advocacy)”, began as and still is a partnership led by veterans and supported by the community.
In 2023 the members of the RSA decided that running a hospitality business was not supporting this objective and after closing this activity and selling their property used the proceeds to fund this Trust.
This Trust's key objectives are:
- To enhance the quality of life for NZ veterans and their dependents, in need
- To support Charitable organisations active in the Point Chevalier community
- To support other NZ veteran support organisations
- To advocate on behalf of past and present veterans where appropriate
- To cover the administrative costs of running the welfare and remembrance costs of the Point Chevalier Memorial RSA and its successors
What the fund supports
The Point Chevalier Veterans Their Families and Community Trust has several key charitable purposes, with funds being directed to the following:

- Enduring comradeship and welfare: nurturing the wellbeing of current and former NZ Defence Force personnel (veterans), their family and dependants.
- Responsible fundraising and stewardship: mobilising and managing charitable funds, overseen by veterans, to help service members and their families in genuine need.
- Poppy Appeal and targeted campaigns: supporting the annual RSA Poppy Appeal and other public or private initiatives to secure vital support for veterans.
- Advocacy and representation: giving veterans, service members and their families a strong, united voice on the issues that matter to them.
